Striking 'Fashion Police' Writers Slam “Non

Before today's video salvo, things had been relatively quiet on the 'Actions speak louder than words. If Joan supported the writers this would be over,' said striking Fashion Police scribe Jackie Beat in a video released today. Protesting the E! show since early April over more than $1 million in back wages, several of the non-unionized and WGA backed writers appeared in a 3 minute video Tuesday talking about the show's host (and WGA member) Joan Rivers' lack of support for their labor dispute with the fashion-dish panel show. 'She was completely non-receptive to it, none of the producers were receptive to it and we were essentially told that if we tried to unionize we would lose our jobs,' says writer Bryan Cook in the video about the writers seeking to gain guild protection. Fashion Police labor front since the writers held a protest outside E!'s HQ on Wilshire back i n late May. At the same time as this has been going on and the writers have filed claims against Rivers' production company, the cable network and FP with the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement office, the show has been airing new shows every week, many of which were written by the very people protesting the series.
